Provided below is information about our application process. Please note that this process is both selective and competitive. We are looking for individuals that demonstrate a high interest in medicine.

Medical Scribe
For students, aspiring medical professionals, and those seeking to gain first-hand experience in the healthcare field.
Students will be offered a part-time scribe position with flexible hours. This opportunity allows you to work alongside healthcare providers, assisting in documenting patient histories, updating records, and managing clinical data.

An important aspect of TIC is the students' involvement in our journal club. Students use their skills to research clinical and business-relate healthcare topics and give a detailed presentation over what they learned.

Fall 2023 intern, Ms. Nguyen, explains her internship experience. She states that this internship not only allows her to see the clinical and business side of health care, but gives her an insight to research as well! Being able to see many patients in clinic and in the nursing homes allows her to learn about many health conditions that are important topics of research in the healthcare field.
Spring 2024 Chief Resident, Dr. Kulkarni, discusses the huge role TIC played in her transition from the Indian healthcare system to the American healthcare system. She lists all of the clinical and administrative skills she learned and shows her gratitude for the prestigious Letter of Recommendation she received.
Fall 2023 Chief Intern, Mr. Ali, describes all that he learned while at TIC. He notes that TIC was the only internship that gave him exposure to the business side of medicine, a key factor in understanding the big picture of healthcare. He also emphasizes how beneficial TIC was when applying to medical school. Lastly, Mr. Ali explains how his role as Chief Intern helped develop his leadership skills and greatly expand his knowledge of the field of medicine.
Fall 2023 intern, Ms. Hamdani, talks of her notable experience at TIC. She notes how she was allowed to expand her horizons and gain great knowledge by being exposed to different kinds of settings, patients, and their health conditions. She highly recommends that prospective interns join due to a close-knit community, which allowed her to meet new people and medical professionals that she wouldn’t have before.
Fall 2024 Resident, Dr. Jose, shares his transformative experience at TIC. As a medical graduate from India, Dr. Jose highlights how the internship introduced him to the US healthcare system, including invaluable hands-on training with the Practice Fusion EMR system, charting, and patient care. Dr. Jonse wholeheartedly recommends the TIC internship to foreign medical graduates seeking practical exposure to the US healthcare environment, expressing gratitude to the TIC team for their support and guidance.
Dr. Gajjala, an international medical graduate from India, reflects on her month-long rotation at Texas Inpatient Consultants. She describes it as a pivotal step in gaining US clinical experience, offering hands-on exposure to outpatient management, EMR systems, and primary care practices, including wellness visits and nursing home care. Dr. Gajjala also appreciated the structured onboarding process, support from the TIC team, and the opportunity to deepen her understanding of insurance and billing in the US healthcare system. She highly recommends this internship to IMGs preparing for residency and is grateful for the invaluable experience and support from TIC
Dr. Joy, an international medical graduate from India, shares her rewarding experience during a one-month rotation at Texas Inpatient Consultants in August 2024. She highlights the well-structured onboarding process and the hands-on clinical exposure, including patient care at outpatient clinics and skilled nursing facilities. Dr. Joy gained valuable experience in conducting histories, physical exams, and presenting assessments under supervision, as well as exposure to managing diverse medical conditions such as Huntington's disease, multiple sclerosis, and post-surgical care. The rotation also provided insight into EMR systems, medical billing, and the US healthcare system, making it an excellent opportunity for IMGs preparing for residency. She highly recommends this rotation and expresses her gratitude to TIC for the experience.
